HEY-O!
I'm back with a funny one for y'all.
Recently I have been seeing all these posts online about things kids do that's embarrassing or just down right stupid. And the first thing that popped in my mind was something I did when I was about 10 yrs old.
Y'all in for a treat. Enjoy my embarrassment.

During a trip to Orlando, FL with my family (idk if it was a Disney trip or not but I remember Disney stuff in the hotel...then again it is Orlando) we decided to hit the pool. My mom stayed back in the room so it was just me, my brother and my dad. Had a splash, had some fun and began the trek back to the room.
My family is very competitive...mainly for the rub-it-in-your-face bragging rights.
So as we walk back I notice the sliding doors into the room are open... or so I thought.

(Don't beat me to the pun here)
So with bold enthusiasm I blurt out, "RACE YA!" I didn't even wait from a response and bolted. I was the shortest in my family at the time so I needed the head start. Others call it cheating. I call it being logical about my odds.
Bout a third of the way there I look back to see how much of a lead I had. They weren't even running. As I turn back for a split second in my mind I was like "shit yeah I got this I'm finally winning at something."
WHAM!
I guess from a distance and in a dimly lit area, a screen door is really hard to see. Now, I didn't just hit it. I didn't knock it down. I didn't bounce back and go "oh gosh golly jee, there's a screen there".
I went through that motha. There was a 10 yr old Amy cutout in that screen door.

Now I don't remember hitting the screen or hitting the floor. But I do remember opening my eyes and seeing the following:
My brother in fettle positions laughing his ass off
My mom in tears from laughing so hard
My dad on the phone with the front desk saying, "Yeah, my dumb kid ran into the screen door. I fixed what I could but do I have to pay for it?" (don't worry, front desk thought it was hilarious and waved the charge)
For the next three years of my life...and sometimes still today, they called me Windex and when those damn Windex black birds come on the TV they're like, "Amy its you!!"

So there's one of my many childhood fails. Hope you enjoyed my little story.
If there's something embarrassing you did as a kid or your kids have done, put it in the comments below. Would love to hear them.
Have a good one!
