Say Less

While I lived in the Atlanta area, I work for the theme park up there (for legal reasons I am not allowed to say there name but all I can say it's in GA, it has roller coasters, and deals a lot with DC Superheroes and Looney Tunes...look it up if you're still lost).

I was a retail supervisor and was easily on of the older employees out in the park. Nearly everyone else hadn't even hit 19yrs.

Well, me and some of the other sups became good friends and had a group chat. I so wish I screenshot this conversation cause I don't remember how it led to this point. So I was telling them to do something or prepare for something and one of them replies, “Say less.”...

“Say Less”

Excuse me?!?

Now, reading something is a whole lot different from hearing something. So the southern in me thinks its like a 'bless your heart' thing where he's really telling me to shut the fuck up.

The following messages from me was a small rant about how I wont be spoken to like that and I didn't understand why he would say that to me.

He responded with a barrage of messages saying that he was sorry and that's not what he meant.

Apparently the term 'Say Less' is a modern day version of 'Say No More' as in 'I Got Your Back' or 'It'll get done'.

Ever since then, it has become the ongoing joke between all of them throughout our friendships.

Recently my granddad had mentioned some phrases that kids today wouldn't understand. I told this story and I should have cut out my tongue...

CAUSE NOW HE SAYS IT!!!
